Huacachina is most famous for its iconic natural oasis with a lagoon in the middle surrounded by palm trees and sand dunes. And the best part is that it’s only 5-hours from Lima! While the oasis is beautiful to look at, you need to know that you can’t swim in it because the water is contaminated, but they are working on a process to clean it soon. Just be sure to book a place to stay that has a pool! But to be honest the desert landscape itself is what blew me away more than the oasis. Huge sand dunes that you can sled down and riding a dune buggy that feels like a roller coaster is exhilarating. Enjoy the photos and also be sure to read my guide on how to get to Huacachina, where to stay, and what to do.
