There’s been a number of rooftop bars opening in Lima over the past few years and the fact that it doesn’t rain in the Peruvian capital means you can enjoy them year-round. I spent the week exploring & drinking at every rooftop bar I could find (my job is just so difficult), and narrowed my list down to the best spots available.

So whether you’re here during the hot & sunny summer or chilly & grey winter, here are the best rooftop bars in Lima, Peru.

Insumo at AC Hotel

Newly opened in April 2019, the Insumo rooftop & restaurant at AC Hotel ended up being my favorite rooftop bar in Lima. The staff was unbelievably friendly, the cocktails were creative, and the best part is the ocean view. The hotel is located right on the waterfront so being able to get a view of Lima like this is rare and it was entertaining to watch people parasailing literally feet away from you. The rooftop is open from 4 pm – 11 pm Monday – Saturday and 12 pm – 5 pm on Sunday. I do suggest trying to get there around 4 pm through to take advantage of the ocean views before it gets dark at 6 pm.

Address: Miraflores, Malecón de la Reserva 729, 18th Floor

Azotea Doce

Azotea Doce is located on the 22nd floor of the Bloom Tower in the Magdalena Del Mar neighborhood. The city views here are stunning so I suggest visiting while it’s still light out if you have time. The indoor area hosts a beautiful restaurant specializing in modern, international cuisine and the outdoor terrace is perfect for enjoying a cocktail. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays the terrace turns into a party with a DJ playing from 10 pm until 3 am.

Address: Magdalena del Mar, Jr Flora Tristán 310 (Bloom Tower Floor 22)

Celeste Solar Bar

Celeste Solar Bar also opened recently in Lima at the Hyatt in San Isidro. I didn’t get much of a chance to check the place out because they were setting up for a private event but apparently this is a hotspot on the weekends. There isn’t much of a city view but the outdoor space is modern and open with plenty of lounge seating as well as a rooftop pool.

Address: San Isidro, Av. Jorge Basadre 367

La Catrina

There surprisingly aren’t very many rooftop bars in the bohemian Barranco neighborhood of Lima, but La Catrina is one of the few you visit. They specialize in authentic Mexico tacos, margaritas, and other classic cocktails. Be sure to arrive for their 2 x 1 happy hour from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Overground

Overground at the new Innside by Melia Hotel has a rooftop pool and small terrace where you can pass an evening sipping on cocktails in Miraflores. The rooftop is open from 3 pm – 11: 30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and 5 pm – 1:30 am on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and closed on Sundays.

Address: Miraflores, Calle Diez Canseco 344

Estelar Miraflores Hotel

The restaurant & bar located on the 22nd floor of Estelar Miraflores Hotel offers some of the most breathtaking views of the city and ocean that you will find in Lima. The decor is a bit outdated, but trust me, the view makes up for it. Be sure to get there by 6 pm and you can enjoy the sunset as well as a 2×1 happy hour from 6 pm – 8 pm.

Address: Miraflores, Av. Alfredo Benavides 415

Fugaz Rooftop

The Callao District is undergoing a cultural renaissance of new art galleries, murals, restaurants, and the trendy new Fugaz Rooftop. The rooftop is currently only open on the weekend for special events so be sure to visit their Facebook Page to see what’s going on.
