Want to stay somewhere nice in Lima that won’t break the bank? I’ve sorted through thousands of hotels, hostels, and apartments to find the best accommodation options available for the budget traveler. Each of the options below are in a central location in either Miraflores, Barranco, or the Historic District and most importantly offer spaces that are WELL-DESIGNED (which is surprisingly difficult to find on a budget in Lima). So, here are 10 cheap places to stay in Lima that are actually nice.

Latin America’s most trendy hostel chain, Selina, is opening in the upscale Miraflores district this September 2018. Staying at Selina means you’ll be in a space surrounded by local artwork, cool design, and great workspaces for digital nomads. Dorms start at $9 USD/night and private rooms go for $44 USD/night.

Orchid Hostels

If you’re looking to stay in the historic district, the newly opened Orchid Hostels is by far the nicest budget option in the area. A bed in the dorm starts at a super cheap $8 USD/night or private rooms start at $23 USD/night.

Trendy Barranco Apartment

Barranco is the most vibrant area to be in Lima as it’s known for having colorful murals, cozy cafes, and hip art galleries. This Trendy Barranco Apartment starts at just $55 USD/night (with space for up to four guests) and puts you in the middle of all the action that Barranco has to offer. Plus there is a gym and pool located in the building which is a hard amenity to come by.

Casa Nuestra

Casa Nuestra is an affordable option if you are looking to stay in the Barranco neighborhood. Rooms start at $36 USD/night and the house is artistically decorated and has cozy common areas for guests to hang out. You also have a knowledgeable host there that can give you great restaurant recommendations and things to do.

La Unsha Hostel

La Unsha Hostel is the highest rated hostel in Barranco and offers dorm rooms starting at $9 USD/night. The hostel has plenty of modern common areas, free computer use, and breakfast included so it’s no wonder why guests love it.

The Point Hostel

Also in Barranco is The Point Hostel, a known party hostel if you’re looking for a social option to meet other travelers. A bed in the dorm here starts at $11 USD/night.

Casa Cielo

If you want to be right in the center of everything, Casa Cielo offers a well-designed hotel space with large rooms and modern amenities starting at $50 USD/night. Staying here you’ll be just blocks away from the bustling Kennedy Park and some of Lima’s famous fine dining options.

Inka Life Hostel

If you’re on a budget, Inka Life Hostel offers modern accommodation for a hostel in Miraflores. Dorms start at $12/night and the hostel features a terrace, a shared lounge, and a bar.

Pucllana Bed and Breakfast

Pucllana Bed and Breakfast offers an incredible value for the money with modern rooms starting at $50 USD/night. Breakfast is also included and you’re steps away from all that Miraflores has to offer.
