Within the center of Lunahuaná, an eco-adventure getaway in Peru, sits the newly opened El Encanto Lodge & Suites. This hotel is for the traveler that wants to be easily based in the center of town, head out for the day to go white water rafting, zip lining, four wheeling, or exploring wineries, and then have a beautiful spot to unwind at the end of the day.

Location

El Encanto is conveniently located right in the center of town so you can easily meet for tours or grab a bite to eat. The only downside of the location is that it doesn’t have a view of the river, but the hotels along there are more expensive or your other option is camping in a tent. It was actually perfect to be situated right in town and then you can pay 5 Soles to hang out on the campground in front of the river for the day and then head back to El Encanto for a comfortable night of sleep.

Design

Within the center of Lunahuaná, El Encanto is the only hotel like it around. Most of the buildings in the area are a bit run down so you’ll often see people popping their head in El Encanto to see the eye-catching design. The decor is modern and colorful with unique vintage decorations around the hotel. There is a small swimming pool that is perfect to cool off during the hot, sunny days or relax poolside with a glass of wine in the evening. The rooms all also modern and feature a TV, mini fridge, air conditioning, and are cleaned daily.

Service

I think what sets El Encanto apart from any other hotel in the area is the level of service they dedicate to their guests. The hotel manager, Katherine, and her staff made us feel like this was a home away from home. They had great suggestions on things to do and where to eat, as well as helping to assist with tour booking (they know where to get the best deals on tours). You can consider them your personal concierge!

Value

Unless you’re camping, staying in Lunahuaná can be pretty expensive. A room at El Encanto starts at $65 USD a night and they have larger suites to accommodate larger groups. They also include a lovely breakfast every morning for you in the price.

Is El Encanto for you?

If you’re wanting to stay right next to the river, El Encanto is not for you. But if you want to in the center of town, around the locals who live there, and be in a beautiful space – El Encanto is the perfect getaway in Lunahuaná. I forgot to mention that the hotel is also pet-friendly upon request! Riley gives his experience 4-paws up. Ready to stay at El Encanto? Book your stay here.

Disclaimer: I received a complimentary stay at El Encanto in exchange for my opinions, but all opinions are my own. I only recommend places that I would stay myself!
